Property Description
Park Villa is a new boutique hostel in the heart of the old East End of London. The hostel is a Georgian Regency villa with attached coach house and has been lovingly restored to reflect its original character and charm.
Superfast WiFi is included in the price and all guests have access to a kitchenette (including kettles, toasters, fridge and combination microwave/grill/oven) and an inviting lounge / TV room. All rooms and showers are cleaned daily and the electronic entry systems, cameras and reception ensure the hostel is safe at all times.
We also offer a continental breakfast (£3 per night), fresh towels (£2 on check-in), a coin operated laundry and a car park (£10 per night). Cards and cash are accepted for payment.
Our dorms at Park Villa feature oak wood floors, customised bunk bed pods, luxurious cotton bedding, grand plantation shutters and are mainly en suites. The family rooms offer the same luxury, with shared bathrooms and full size baths. All rooms offer warmth, comfort and lots of space to stretch out and make your own.

Photo ID is required for all guests including UK nationals. Acceptable photo ID includes passport, national ID or drivers licence and for UK nationals, even a student ID is acceptable
Cancellation policy: 7 days before arrival.
Check in from 12:00 to 24:00 .
Check out before 10:00 .
Taxes included.
Breakfast not included. Breakfast is available from 8am - 12 noon and costs £3 per night, payable on check-in.
Payment upon arrival by cash, credit cards, debit cards. We will precharge in the 7th day before arrival 100% and if the charge fails, we will contact you and you will have 24 hs to arrange alternative payment, otherwise your booking will be cancelled.
For Non-Refundable bookings, the full amount of the stay will be charged at the time of the booking. In case of a failed charge, we will contact you and we reserve the right to cancel your booking if no answer is given within 24 hours.

This hostel ticked all my boxes as a solo traveller. It feels very safe staying there, since there's lockers as well as curtains for the bed. You will sleep well! And you get to borrow a UK adapter and a lock.
There are things to do if you would get bored. The staff members are all very nice and easy to get along with.
It felt more like a shared home than a hostel, because people were studying/working, doing their own thing and staying for a long time. I would 100% stay here again next time!

The last time I stayed in this hostel was in 2018 before the pandemic, so it was interesting to observe the changes that have taken place. It's still a great hostel, the kitchen is well-stocked, common spaces are well maintained and it's very safe. There are also female-only dorms that are not too huge, beds are comfy and in-room toilets are cleaned regularly. The only reason I deducted a few stars this time was because of my check-in experience. The girl at the reception who checked me in for this booking was really incompetent. I had already started my stay at the hostel through a booking via another portal and she only needed to extend my stay through the HW booking and process the payment. Not sure what she did, but all my cards were declined when she was at the helm, when just three days before, her colleague (a tall guy) had checked me in just fine. She was unhelpful and treated me poorly as if I was trying to pull off some criminal act. As I'm a regular traveller, I've observed check-in staff at both hostels and expensive hotels, process payments from all sorts of international cards, so I could see she was clueless. She could have asked for help from someone, but she didn't and proceeded to treat me poorly instead. I actually had to go out in my slippers (as I had lost access to my room and my shoes were inside) to withdraw cash through the very same cards that were declined and supposedly dodgy. (I had actually even used one of them the day before so know it wasn't me/my card at fault). When I paid cash on my return, she she then tried to play the victim - though I didn't say anything back even though I was angry. Anyway, it was an uneventful stay otherwise, just some of the new staff don't seem to know what they are doing, and are unnecessarily rude to cover up their own incompetence.
