Once the school for St Paul's Cathedral choir boys, it's minutes from the West End by tube or bus, yet provides a quiet retreat after a hectic day exploring. Discover the city's past at the nearby Museum of London or venture across the Millennium Bridge to Tate Modern and other South Bank attractions.

Short walk to blackfriars’s station is a big plus. Staff are friendly. bunks are very squeaky and don’t have curtains.

Facility kept very clean, staff very helpful. Key cards programmed to only give access to our room's section. Enough toilets in section but had to wait to use one shower. Water pressure/temp great but needs shelf for toiletries. Book early to get an ensuite bathroom. not a surprise: lots of stairs but well marked, wifi only in common areas. Every bed in our bunks had its own plug/personal light which was very useful. No a/c but fan in rm. Ground floor rm can hear outside noises.

A solid YHA hostel. They are gradually renovating, the floor I was on had new showers. Nice, clean rooms, public rooms and kitchen. Standard YHA continental/English breakfast. Staff were pretty good. Only substandard aspects were the WIFI basically only works in the common rooms and because the hostel is only 100 metres from St Pauls, best to bring earplugs. Also this is one of the few YHA hostels that doesn't have a kitchen you can prepare your own food. Still a very comfortable YHA.
