It?s no exaggeration to say this is one of the best known hostels in the world. Most will know of its legend simply by word of mouth. It?s located right in the centre of the city smack bang in the middle of all the action, with the red light district and Dam Square mere steps away. The place is lively without being unbearable. It doesn?t accept stag or hen do?s, sports groups or massive marauding all-male parties, so you can expect the hostel bar and overall atmosphere of the place to be fun and lively, but not too boisterous.

Stay in the Iconic and World Famous Hostel, right in the heart of Amsterdam's Red Light District with our legendary Coffeeshop right next door. No need for public transport (and the cost!), you can walk or bike to everything you want to see in Amsterdam. It is only 10 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. We are open 24 hours a day with Staff and Security always on site. All Guests must be at least 18 years of age,
Our Lounge Bar is the 'Living Room of Amsterdam', where you can meet people from all over the world and try to make sense of the madness! The Lounge Bar is always busy and the perfect place to meet fellow travellers and even some locals.
The lounge Bar is open until late every day! We have specials, happy hours, a pool table, video game tables and more!
All Guests receive a 10% discount on everything in our beautiful Bulldog Brand Store! Tell the world where you've been!
Did we mention our cosy & chilled Rooftop Terrace available only for our hotel guests? Kick back with gorgeous views of the Old Church (founded in 1213), grab a drink from the Lounge Bar or something from the Coffeeshop and enjoy!
Our Dorm Rooms include the free use of a locker (bring your own lock or buy one on-site) You may be placed in an 8, 10 or 12-person room, All with bathrooms/showers inside the rooms, so no running down the hallway for a shower! All of our dorms are the same price and quality.
Bed Linen is provided and towels are available from the front desk at no extra charge, just ask if you need one or pick up some extra soap and shampoo on the house :).
Private Rooms are equipped with Private Bathrooms, Towels, TV, Hairdryers and a Safe for personal belongings.
Free Luggage storage is provided on arrival and departure for all of our guests. Really, it's free!
Our front desk is happy to help you book tickets, boats or help with whatever you need.

More of a hotel with multiple beds per room than a true hostel. Not much of a social area to meet other guests. Would not recommend for solo travelers looking for others to explore the area with, as most guests seemed to be in groups already, and weren't overly interested in adding to their group.
The bed was decently comfortable, but quite small (couldn't sit upright), with no privacy curtains. Overall, the hostel was fairly run down and not my favorite.
Also, very loud at night! Sort of to be expected

Great location, friendly enough staff, with a lovely area to chill out down stairs if you want to. Not the cleanest accommodation would be my main gripe but nevertheless still a good experience and had a great weekend due to it being in a good location.
