About Chelsea
Chelsea is an affluent area in South West London right by the River Thames. The neighbourhood is filled with high-end homes, posh shops and upscale restaurants, pubs and bars. The fashionable district is also home to many museums, galleries and cultural institutes, such as The Saatchi Gallery, Royal Court Theatre and Cadogan Hall.
The elegant neighbourhood is within walking distance from the south side of the Hyde Park. Other London landmarks such as Buckingham Palace and the luxurious department store of Harrods are also in the vicinity. If you don’t mind walking, you can go to Soho and Westminster by foot or simply hop on the underground.
Due to its central location, Chelsea makes a great base for exploring London. Hostels in Chelsea are close to shops, bars and attractions but still surrounded by peaceful residential streets.
The tube stations nearest to Chelsea town centre are Sloane Square (District and Circle lines) and South Kensington (District, Circle and Piccadilly lines). Many London buses serve the neighbourhood too. To get to Heathrow Airport, you can get the Piccadilly line from South Kensington. For Gatwick, use the Gatwick Express from the nearby London Victoria train station.
